What's the Best Way to Store Your Ammunition?

Winchester's resource for new shooters has some critical ammo tips that even experienced shooters should heed.

Can ammunition "go bad"? The answer to that question is a little more complex than "yes" or "no." The consensus is that well-made, high-quality ammunition can last for decades when it's stored properly. That "proper storage" question, however, is going to be a little bit different for every NRA Woman.

In this video from Winchester Ammunition's fantastic new resource for new gun owners, regular NRA Women columnist Becky Yackley gets down to the nuts and bolts. First, what's the ammunition's intended use? How long do you think you may need to store it? Are you stockpiling, or shooting regularly?

The key seems to be keeping your ammunition cool and dry. Moisture can be problematic even for very well-made ammunition like Winchester's, so you may need to think about an ammunition can, or storing in a safe. Whichever works best for your personal situation, your friends at Winchester (and NRA Women) are here to support you.
