A woman was faced with an intruder crawling through the window of her house in the middle of the night, prompting her to retrieve her gun and fire shots. The would-be burglar was hit once in the chest. The man, 29, was able to run away, but ultimately collapsed in front of a gas station. Police officers who responded to the call provided aid until paramedics arrived and transported to hospital. The intruder was pronounced dead shortly after 2 a.m. (msn.com; Birmingham, Ala., 11/8/22)
