At the top of our lineup this week is the question at the top of everyone's minds: What on Earth do I buy for the hunter, competitive shooter or self-defender in my life? The answer is, of course, "It all depends"! This week, we have two different gift guides that we're sure will inspire you with holiday gift ideas for the hunter and outdoorswoman, as well as a list tailored for those of us who are more comfortable at the range or shopping downtown.

Contributor and lifelong hunter Melissa Bachman writes, "This is a compilation of products that I really enjoy and either find useful in the field or use to showcase my harvests. There is a wide range of prices, but these are my absolute favorite items. I feel other hunters would be delighted to find these gifts under the Christmas tree." We think she's right; check it out!

Contributor and champion competitive shooter Becky Yackley writes, "I spend a lot of time on the range as a competitive shooter and instructor. I’m going to share my Christmas list with NRA Women readers. I have used and tested these products … and want more of them! All of these items are useful for the firearm owner and shooting sports enthusiast in your life." Our holiday list just got longer; we bet yours will, too

Springfield Armory has just launched an exciting new version of their wildly popular SAINT AR-15 rifle line, chambered in .223 Wylde. You may have noticed that .223 Wylde doesn't sound all that different from .223 Win., but the SAINT is in the details. Find out why we're Wylde about the new SAINT Edge ATC.

“Look at these happy little trees,” Bob Ross would say, as his angled paintbrush etched forests into canvas. That love for nature that shone from the eyes of everyone’s favorite TV art teacher was genuine. That’s why, inspired by Ross, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources is bringing back the Run for the Trees / Happy Little (Virtual) 5K April 22-29, 2022, now in its third year. Run for the happy little trees!

The ideal Christmas Day includes presents under the tree, fun in the snow and home cooking. You can take your holiday meals to the next level by preparing some of your hard-earned harvests for your loved ones. Take some inspiration from our wild game smorgasbord and impress your family with meals made possible by your expert marksmanship

We focus a lot in this space about gun safety and gun handling skills, and for very good reason! However, there are three other things that you absolutely must know before you begin carrying your handgun concealed on your person. Smith & Wesson brand ambassador Ken Scott explains.

This year, 18-year-old Abbie Leverett of Bainbridge, Ga., expanded her name in the marksmanship community. Over the summer at the 2021 Camp Perry National Matches, she secured five High Junior titles at the Warm-Up, .22 Rimfire EIC (Excellence in Competition), .22 Rimfire (where she was also the overall High Civilian), EIC Service Pistol and National Trophy Individual pistol matches. Leverett was also the .22 Rimfire Pistol Junior Aggregate champion. Wow!

Subscription services for our favorite products are not a new idea—remember book/record/cassette tape-of-the-month in the 1980s? Federal Ammunition has announced a new limited availability monthly subscription service through which consumers can subscribe to receive 250 rounds of Full Metal Jacket ammunition at their doorsteps every month (with a 12-month service commitment). Hmm, also sounds like a good holiday gift ...
