A man with an extensive violent criminal history was shot and killed by a woman after he broke into her home. The intruder had forced his way into her home around 5:30 a.m. on a Thursday, but she was able to retrieve her gun and shoot him.

It turns out the deceased man, 53, was responsible for reprehensible crimes for which he had been in and out of prison since 1991. His criminal history included cocaine possession, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was also a convicted sex offender, having assaulted a 12-year-old girl. His list of crimes grew when he was charged in 1994 with killing two men and stealing their valuables—then used the cash he stole from them to purchase airline tickets to Dallas for himself and his girlfriend, and wore a gold medallion taken from one of his victims.

Fortunately, the man will not have the opportunity to commit any more such heinous crimes against innocent people. (abc7.com; Amarillo, Texas; 6/23/23)
