Two women were at home in their apartment when they heard a car alarm. One of the women armed herself with a handgun and went to investigate, and discovered a man breaking into her car. After confronting him, an altercation ensued. The woman ultimately fired at the man, injuring him. The man was taken to the hospital, and the incident is being investigated as a self-defense shooting. (fox10pheonix.com, Tempe, Ariz., 04/26/22)

The woman, a 19-year veteran of the force, reportedly used her service pistol to defend herself. After the incident she was taken to the hospital, where she was treated for visible physical injuries.
