A man approached the checkout of a Family Dollar store with a bag of chips, then pointed a gun at the male employee. The robber put his hand in the cash drawer and then pointed the firearm at a female employee. However, the brave woman drew her own firearm and followed the man out of the store. The suspect shot at the woman and she returned fire, hitting him in the leg. The robber fled the scene, but police uncovered his backpack with the firearm inside. A woman was driving with her adult son in the passenger seat when a driver in another car passed them in an aggressive manner. The son reportedly gave the passing car a “look” that enraged the other driver. The mother decided to make a U-turn to avoid a confrontation, but he followed them. In her attempt to evade the aggressive driver, her car’s tire hit a curb, which caused damage and forced her to pull into a McDonald’s parking lot. That’s when the pair reportedly heard two gunshots. The armed mother returned fire at the suspect’s car, then ran into the restaurant with her son for help. The occupants of the passing car stole the mother’s purse from her car and fled, an act that was captured on security cameras. (columbuspolice.org, Columbus, Ohio, 02/21/22)
