A woman kicked her boyfriend out of her apartment, but he came back. Her children were home when the man pried open and kicked in the front door. However, the brave mother was prepared to defend herself and her family. She shot him once he finally gained entry into her home. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital, but the woman and children are safe. (khou.com, Houston, Texas, 09/02/21)

Police responded to a domestic violence incident where a woman who showed clear signs of abuse shot her attacker. The man was sent to the hospital, and the woman is not facing charges for defending herself. (kens5.com, San Antonio, Texas, 10/03/21)
