A 28-year-old woman was home alone with her child in the mid-afternoon when she called 9-1-1 to report a strange man prowling around her home. The woman also reported that he took off all of his clothes and walked around her house naked, breaking windows. Eventually, he attempted to crawl inside the house. Upon his entry, the mother armed herself and shot the intruder in what police are calling, “a clear act of self-defense.” (tdn.com, Kelso, Wash., 08/19/21)

A physical altercation turned deadly when a man assaulted his girlfriend, knocking out one of her teeth. The woman retreated to her bedroom for safety. She armed herself while her 13-year-old grandson called the police to report the man assaulting his grandmother. The woman shot her abuser after he threatened to kill her. The child is safe, and police Chief William McManus said that the shooting could be considered self-defense. (ksat.com, San Antonio, Tex., 06/07/19)
