A woman was injured but is alive after she exchanged gunfire with a male intruder. Reports say the 43-year-old woman responded to her attacker, 48, after he forcibly entered her home. The sheriff’s office’s Violent Offender Task Force later located the suspect, who was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for the injuries he sustained during the attack. Upon his discharge from the hospital, the suspect is expected to be booked into the county jail on charges of first-degree assault and first-degree burglary. (heraldnet.com; 5/7/25; Everett, WA)
