Stevens 320 Thumbhole Turkey Shotgun

Savage Arms, which incorporates the Stevens line of shotguns, has just announced three new additions to the Stevens 320 pump-action shotguns. They’re all boasting new thumbholes in their stocks, and they’re all priced right at $300. Stevens is rolling out the Thumbhole Security home-defense model with a bead sight, the Thumbhole Security model with a ghost-ring sight, and a Turkey Thumbhole model. These new 320s provide offer a new option for fans of the classic Stevens design, and are expected on store shelves in time for the holidays.

What’s great about a thumbhole stock is that it takes away much of the “guesswork” involved in getting on-target quickly. New shooters might also notice that hooking your thumb through the hole helps keep you aware of the position of your hand on that stock—and it seems to help newbies keep their forefinger outside the trigger guard.

The new 320 Thumbhole Security shotgun was created for home defense. It provides a new level of ergonomics to the time-tested 320 action. Combining an 18.5-inch barrel with a matte black fore-end and aggressive stock texturing, it’s available with either ghost ring sights or a traditional front bead sight. Both options are chambered in 12 gauge and 20 gauge. The pricing for the front-bead sight model is $275; for the ghost-ring sight model you’re looking at an MSRP of $305 (and probably less at dealers).

Savage has a thumbhole 320 shotgun for you turkey hunters, too. The 320 Turkey has an ambidextrous cheek riser, extended extra-full turkey choke and adjustable fiber-optic sights. The olive drab stock and fore-end have built-in grip textures, and the receiver is drilled and tapped. SavageArms.com
