Alps Double Gun Case 2

"Anything that can happen, will happen, and at the worst possible time." We don't know who the eponymous Murphy of Murphy's Law was or how she got so wise, but we suspect that she spent a lot of time having outdoor adventures. We also suspect that she may have had a word or two with the folks at ALPS OutdoorZ on the subject of waterfowl hunting, because the company has just introduced its new floating gun case, designed to help you break Murphy's Law with total impunity.

The Floating Gun Case is built to the same high standards as all of ALPS' soft cases, but with an additional layer of protection and flotation. High-density flotation foam prevents firearms from taking a dunk, even if dropped in deep water. There's even a roll-over Velcro-sealed opening, which helps prevent water from entering the case and creates a buoyant air pocket when closed.

The case's dimensions are 59x9", and can accommodate shotguns with extended chokes and barrels up to 28". It includes a convenient side pocket with choke tube/shell holders, as well as a zippered pocket for your odds and ends. It's comfortable to carry with a padded shoulder strap and carry handle. A final thoughtful touch is the D-ring clip at the barrel end for hanging the case when not in use. The case is available in your choice of Realtree MAX-5 or Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat.

Of course, you don't even have to be a waterfowler to have plenty of reason to use a floating gun case. If water may be a factor ... and if you happen to have an expensive new firearm ... that you you were so excited to try out that you didn't wait to insure before you took it out on the water ... well, you and Murphy both know how that one ends. MSRP $69.99; ALPSOutdoorz.com.
