Leupold Performance Eyewear Goes Low-Profile

It's the same quality we love, just scaled down for smaller faces!

Last year, shooters everywhere were introduced to Leupold’s latest new optic: Performance Eyewear shooting glasses. (We loved them!) The only thing we hoped would be added to future Performance Eyewear eye protection were smaller frames for those of us with smaller faces—and today Leupold has delivered. There are now three new styles of Performance Eyewear: the Payload, the Refuge and the Cheyenne.

If last year’s initial launch of Leupold performance eyewear left you hoping for an option that was just a little bit smaller, the Refuge has all the rugged features of its bigger brother, the Becnara, but in a sleek new style. Smaller still is the Cheyenne, which was specifically created for hunters and shooters with smaller faces. Its full wrap design offers complete protection from the elements, while maintaining maximum visibility and air flow.

Like their larger siblings, these Leupold shooting glasses are ANSI-rated for safety, but that’s just where it starts. Rather than having a polarized surface coating, Leupold’s glasses are polarized all the way through the lens. They’re super comfortable as well; you’ll simply forget that they’re there until you go indoors and start wondering why everything’s so dark. Each of the new styles is available in multiple lens and frame combinations, adding 11 total new sets of eyewear to Leupold’s line.

Like the rest of the Performance Eyewear line, the Payload, Refuge and Cheyenne are all are made in America from lightweight, ballistic-rated materials. They feature a coating that repels dirt, water, and fingerprints for a clear, crisp image, so you’re not constantly having to polish them. When you do polish them, you’ll find that the Diamondcoat-hardened lenses have kept the shades scratch-free. Of course, all of the Performance Eyewear line provides complete UV protection for your eyes.

“Our products outperform the competition under the harshest conditions, without fail–and the Performance Eyewear line has been no different,” said Zach Bird, product line manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “The Payload, Refuge, and Cheyenne designs ensure that hunters, anglers, and outdoorsmen and women everywhere have a set of Leupold Performance Eyewear that meet their needs and personal style.” MSRP $179-$189; Leupold.com.
