While Ava Flanell grew up around firearms because her parents owned a gun shop and range, she didn’t take to shooting until adulthood. She’s a self-proclaimed girly-girl who had other interests until she joined her mom on the range in 2012. Tune into It’s Federal Season podcast episode 24 to hear why Flanell left her job in New York to come home and run the family business.

“Ava has a great story of switching careers midstream,” stated Jason Nash, Federal Premium’s Vice President of Marketing. “Federal is proud to have her part of our dedicated team to bring more shooters into the outdoors,” he continued.

Flanell shares her passion with everyone, from new shooters having just bought their first gun to experienced shooters wanting to continuously improve their skills. In the Tech Talk segment, Flanell dives deeper into some of the course descriptions and what she imparts to her students at Elite Firearms & Training in Colorado.

“As a very feminine woman, I hope to show women they can still be girly but capable of protecting themselves,” shared Flanell. She said, “This industry does not have to be male dominant, and I plan to continue to break the many stereotypes most associate with firearms.”

You can listen to Flanell’s episode (and the rest of It’s Federal Season’s informative and entertaining episodes) on the Federal Premium website, Talk North podcast network, or Federal Ammunition’s YouTube channel.
