We The People Indpendence Holsters

Leather holsters are as iconic a symbol of America’s Old West as the oceans of steer our cowhands once drove across the high chaparral, but the leather itself can be just as up-to-the minute as 2022. New this year is We The People Holsters’ new Independence leather holsters, created for both outside-the-waistband (OWB) and inside-the-waistband (IWB) holsters.

There are two things that set these holsters apart. First, they’re made in America from American leather—a big plus in these days of shipping supply-line problems. Second, the Independence holster line makes life much easier for the new gun owner than traditional leather holsters. That’s because most new leather holsters on the market require a breaking-in period (and some of that breaking-in will require a bit of strength and patience).

We the People’s design uses a double-layer shell for added rigidity, which allows a custom-tailored fit to your handgun, first time and every time you draw and reholster—without sacrificing retention. The fact that the leather is malleable enough to do this while maintaining its strength is due to the holsters’ construction, which is composed of four layers of premium cowhide.

Both the IWB and OWB Independence holsters feature a branded We The People emblem, heavy-duty stitching and your choice of brown or black hand-rubbed leather. The IWB Independence holster is a low-profile design that boasts a very small “footprint,” with tuckable clips that are fully adjustable for ride and cant. With three retention points, The Independence offers great security as well as versatility to make it easy to keep up with your wardrobe needs.

The OWB Independence holster can absolutely be worn for open carry, but don’t dismiss its CCW features, such as a “tail fin” that pushes the firearm against the body to reduce printing. The proprietary belt-loop design allows the holster to be easily taken off or on in a hurry, and the rear belt loop is made from reinforced PVC-coated ballistic nylon.

Available in the right- or left-hand models for the GLOCK 17-22-31 (Gen 1-4); MSRP $149.00; WeThePeopleHolsters.com
