The National Rifle Association of America is proud to support the seventh annual National Shooting Sports Month, an initiative of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). Created by NSSF to encourage participation in the shooting sports and emphasize firearms safety, National Shooting Sports Month will take place throughout the month of August.

“The NRA is once again honored to partner with NSSF to promote and support National Shooting Sports Month,” said Joseph P. De Bergalis, Jr., Executive Director of NRA General Operations. “There is no better way to wrap-up the summer than by visiting a local range and pulling triggers. With the record-breaking numbers of first-time gun owners, now is the time for NRA members to become mentors and introduce their friends, family, and co-workers to the shooting sports and teach safe, responsible firearm use.”

“Last year’s National Shooting Sports Month was a tremendous success, thanks to hundreds of ranges and retailers across the country reminding people about the fun and excitement of target shooting,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director of Member Services. “We’re thrilled to have NRA join in continuing the celebration of the shooting sports this year.”

Whether you’re an experienced target shooter, a hunter or a person just becoming interested in acquiring a first firearm and learning how to shoot, NRA and NSSF invite you to head out to the range during National Shooting Sports Month so you can improve your shooting and firearm safety skills.

NSSF and NRA encourage you to share your National Shooting Sports Month experience on social media and to use the hashtag #LetsGoShooting.
