Target With Rifle Holes

At the top of our lineup this week is a topic near and dear to our hearts: summertime range wear for women that keeps us cool when the range is hot. Here are contributor Barb Melloni's favorite picks.

How does someone who has no background in hunting actually hit the woods and get started? It’s a question Jo Deering had never really pondered until someone asked. Where DO you get started if you have no idea where to begin, especially as an adult? The process is easier than you think, and the rewards richer than you guess

Would you like to hit more clay targets more consistently? And not only hit them, but crush them? Who wouldn’t, right? Then you might consider hiring a shooting coach. Here's what to expect in terms of technique and results, courtesy of contributor Chip Gross and our friends at NRA Family.

Not many pro shooters can come back from a nearly two-year hiatus to win (and win big) on the range, but if anyone can, it's Julie Golob! A touchstone for women who shoot, Golob proudly represents Smith & Wesson, Safariland, Federal Premium and Trijicon on the pro-shooter circuit. A Second Amendment ambassador, hunter, coach and overall the nicest person you'll meet, Julie Golob's return to the shooting scene was every bit the triumph you'd expect.

Shooting coach not in your budget? If you have a fall bird hunt planned or you just love shooting sporting clays, the summer is the perfect time to find a new course or build your own if you have enough property to do it safely.

While an instructor isn’t always accessible, Winchester’s AA TrAAcker shells are the next best thing to having a coach over your shoulder...

Preparation for the 2021 A Girl & A Gun Fall Fest is underway! The 6th Annual Fall Festival will take place in Cross Timbers, MO, from Sept. 28 through Oct. 3, 2021. It actually comprises three separate events: 3-Gun University Presented by TROY Industries, which is three days of training clinics and strategy workshops; the 1-day Team Pistol Challenge; and the Multigun Challenge, a 2-day match for both 3-gun and PCC competitors. Find out more here!

Five-time All-American Mindy Miles was announced as the new Nebraska rifle team head coach on May 24, 2021. Some readers will remember in 2015 when Miles set the collegiate shooting world on fire as a Texas Christian University freshman, when she became only the fifth shooter in NCAA history to shoot a perfect 600 score (air rifle). Our friends at Shooting Sports USA have more.

The Well Armed Woman has an infographic you need in your life. It highlights some of the benefits of shooting we may have forgotten or don’t often think about or realize. There are so many! Don’t let anyone tell you that shooting isn’t good for you, just look at all of these reasons!
