As the number of women hunters grows, organizations like Raised at Full Draw are inspiring and educating them with events like the R.I.S.E Women’s Outdoor Retreat. At R.I.S.E (Reach, Inspire, Support, Empower), women had the opportunity to sharpen this hunting skills, share best practices and learn about new techniques and gear from certified bowhunter instructors.

The three-day event was designed for all levels of hunters with the goal of promoting archery, hunting and outdoor education by interesting new hunters and helping avid huntresses grow in their abilities. “This retreat was one of our best yet. I’m amazed with the talent these women have as hunters, and I’m inspired by their willingness to share techniques to help others improve,” commented Chief Operating Officer of the R.I.S.E. camp, Donise Petersen.

As a result of the incredible collaboration and education at the event, “Each participant successfully completed their national bowhunting certification through our camp,” said Peterson. She also affirmed, “We are proud to do our part in supporting these women and the hunting industry across the country.”

R.I.S.E and Raised at Full Draw’s other programs provide opportunities for hunters to learn in a safe, hands-on environment. The focus of their events is on target practice for bow accuracy, safety, strategy, the ethical treatment of animals and the importance of the hunting industry to our animal population.

Other camps available this summer and fall include youth camps in Iowa, Montana, North Dakota, and other states. A full list of camps and registration information are available on the Raised at Full Draw website.
