The struggle to find the perfect concealment gear is real, and even more so for women, especially since on-body carry is largely regarded as the optimal method for being able to quickly access a defensive firearm. But with so many choices in holsters, deciding on one can be daunting—yet it never deters us from our search for fit, form and function.

Safariland has just given us one more reason to believe in on-body carry, as it has expanded its concealment holster line with the addition of the Species inside-the-waistband (IWB) holster.

Of course, IWB means nothing if the holster doesn't offer the "three Fs." We need it to fit comfortably (and adjustable to our individual shapes), be reliable and function flawlessly. Safariland seems to have thought this out by including an integrated tension device for a tailored fit, while also allowing for cant and vertical height. A passive trigger guard retention system and suede-lined interior (to protect your firearm’s finish) complement the holster’s exterior, which is formed from “SafariLaminate,” an impact-resistant thermoform shell.

"Safariland continues to prioritize concealed carry for the responsible citizen," said Tim Drnec, vice president of marketing. "The new offerings allow owners of today's newest and most popular firearms to use a holster with retention, great concealment and comfort."

For now the Species IWB holster is available in today’s most popular concealed-carry models: SIG Sauer P365/P365XL; Glock 43/43X; Springfield Hellcat; and Smith & Wesson Shield/Shield Plus. It can comfortably fit standard 1.5" (38 mm) belt widths.
