A man went to his ex-girlfriend’s house to pick up some of his things when the pair started arguing. The man drew a handgun and chased the woman around her house saying, “I’m about to mess things up.” He cornered her in the bedroom, but the woman was able to access her AR-15. The man fired at her and she shot back. A bullet grazed his head and he fled the scene. Police located the perpetrator and sent him to jail after being treated at the hospital for the head wound. There were children in the house at the time, but none were hurt. (wkbn.com, Youngstown, Ohio, 08/10/20)

A man smashed a sliding glass door at the back of a house, awakening the homeowner and prompting her to grab her handgun. The woman confronted the intruder and he lunged toward her. The woman shot the assailant once, causing him to flee. The suspect crashed his car two blocks from the scene and later died at the hospital. Police classified the incident as self-defense.
