A burglar entered a home through the back door of a laundry room and was attempting to gain access to the main portion of the house when the homeowner went to investigate. She shot the intruder twice in the chest to protect herself and her three children also in the home. (foxsanantonio.com, San Antonio, Texas, 04/29/22)

A woman was forced to shoot a man in self-defense when he assaulted her. Police spoke to witnesses and reviewed evidence before releasing the woman. The attacker died of his injuries. (phoenix.gov, Phoenix, Ariz., 06/19/22)
