A burglar entered a home through the back door of a laundry room and was attempting to gain access to the main portion of the house when the homeowner went to investigate. A woman was forced to shoot a man in self-defense when he assaulted her. Police spoke to witnesses and reviewed evidence before releasing the woman. The attacker died of his injuries. (phoenix.gov, Phoenix, Ariz., 06/19/22)
