A 34-year-old woman noticed several young men attempting to break into her parked vehicle. When she confronted them, one of the offenders pointed a gun at her. Unfortunately for them, the woman was a legal CCW holder, and in fear for her life, discharged her own firearm, striking one of them. The rest of the hoodlums fled the scene, while the one with the gunshot wound—who turned out to be 13 years old—was transported in fair condition to a hospital. The woman was not injured. A 56-year-old woman called 9-1-1 to report a man attempting to enter her home. She told dispatchers that the man had broken a window and she had discharged her firearm, but was unsure if he was struck. When police arrived, they discovered the would-be burglar in front of her residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A woman who was being assaulted and feared for her life shot her attacker in the leg, according to reports. Police said the incident started inside the woman’s apartment, but she subsequently fled to a parking lot of a nearby grocery store before she fired on him. The man was taken to a hospital in stable condition; the victim sustained bruising from the fight. (foxatlanta.com; Atlanta, Ga., 7/22/22)
