NRA Women The Armed Citizen Shooting A Pistol

The following accounts of brave armed women who defended themselves with a firearm appeared earlier on this site:

After more than six months of physical abuse from a man she lived with, a woman, in fear for her life, finally defended herself by shooting her aggressor. After spending time in the hospital for his injuries, detectives obtained arrest warrants and took the man into custody. The 32-year-old abuser was charged with multiple counts.of domestic abuse, sexual battery and attempted second-degree murder. Investigators were able to identify that a long pattern of domestic abuse had been occurring at the residence with the male resident. (KATC.com, Acadia, LA, March 2021)

A woman was walking down the street when a strange man grabbed her and attempted to pull her pants down. She physically resisted him, but he continued to try to pull her into the nearby woods. She was able to draw her firearm and shoot at her attacker, causing him to run away. When police later arrested him, the suspect confessed to multiple sex offenses over two months including groping, exposing himself, and asking for sex from strangers. He also forced his way into two women’s homes in an attempt to rape them. (wcnc.com, Rock Hill, S.C., 10/12/21)
