CZ Redhead Venerable 16 Gauge Shotgun

CZ-USA's Redhead Premier shotgun, a shooter's favorite for many years due to its reliability and versatility, has just lightened up a little ... well, the perceived recoil has, anyway! The company has just announced that a new 16-gauge model is joining the Redhead Premier line, and recoil-sensitive shooters everywhere are rejoicing.

The 16-gauge isn't a "new" chambering, of course; once upon a time a 16-gauge shotgun was the top choice for knowledgeable upland hunters and recreational shooters. That's because, as the conventional wisdom of the time had it, the 16 gauge "carries like a 20 but hits like a 12." That conventional wisdom never got any less wise, but the 16-gauge fell out of popularity for a while ... but that trend has reversed in a very big way. The 16 gauge doesn't just offer far less perceived recoil than its heavier-gauged relatives. It also stands as a "just right" solution suited to just about any use you'd like to put it to.

The Redhead Premier over-under shotgun has earned its reputation among shooters as a terrific "do-all" shotgun equally suited to breaking clays, wingshooting and even home defense. The new 16-gauge Redhead Premier features auto ejectors, a single selectable trigger and 28" barrels with Fixed IC/MOD chokes. As with all Redhead Premier models, the new addition is solidly built, and this strength starts with a one-piece CNC-ed receiver.

It's not just functional; it's also attractive. It features a Turkish walnut stock and forend, laser-cut checkering, solid mid-ribs, a pistol grip and a Bradley-style white front bead. The Redhead Premier 16GA feels natural and comfortable on the shoulder, comes up quickly and gets on target fast. With a silver receiver and ejectors that kicks out the spent shells automatically, the Redhead Premier is packed with features that can't be found on another shotgun in its price range.

The MSRP is $988, but chances are you'll be able to find it for less at your local gun shop. Click here for more information, or to find a dealer!
