While Ava Flanell grew up around firearms because her parents owned a gun shop and range, she didn’t take to shooting until adulthood. She’s a self-proclaimed girly-girl who had other interests until she joined her mom on the range in 2012. Flanell shares her passion with everyone, from new shooters having just bought their first gun to experienced shooters wanting to continuously improve their skills. In the Tech Talk segment, Flanell dives deeper into some of the course descriptions and what she imparts to her students at Elite Firearms & Training in Colorado.
“As a very feminine woman, I hope to show women they can still be girly but capable of protecting themselves,” shared Flanell. She said, “This industry does not have to be male dominant, and I plan to continue to break the many stereotypes most associate with firearms.”
