Galco Michelle Viscusi

It's immensely rewarding to watch as more and more gun and gear manufacturers feature women on their pro shooting and brand ambassador teams, and today we're happy to welcome one more: Galco's latest brand ambassador, Michelle Viscusi. If you're not familiar with Galco, you'll also see them called Galco Gunleather, and that's what they've been doing for over 50 years: Creating top-quality gunleather in the form of holsters, belts, concealed-carry gear and more.

“We’re delighted that Michelle is representing Galco,” said Richard Gallagher, founder and President of Galco International. “As a neighbor, veteran, top-level shooter and patriotic American, she’s a great addition to the Galco family.”

Michelle didn't necessarily set out to become a competitive shooter, but the life found her soon enough. After joining the Arizona Army National Guard at 19 years old, she and her commanders discovered that she's a "natural" shooter. So much so, in fact, that while she was still active duty she competed with 17 more experienced shooters on The History Channel's hit reality-TV series Top Shot.

Top Shot was a watershed moment for the young shooter. Although she seems to have been born with her gift, the show taught her that she would need to take her craft and competitive shooting more seriously if she wanted to realize her shooting dreams. She committed herself to countless hours of training at the range and her hard work was rewarded with a position on Team GLOCK in 2013. Shooting competitively all over the world, Michelle continues the team’s legacy of championship-caliber female shooters.

Michelle's partnership with the venerable holster manufacturer makes sense. After all, the company has been focusing on gunleather tailored just for women for decades...and, like Michelle, they're only just hitting their stride.
