Springfield Armory has announced the release of the newest addition to the Hellcat family, the Hellcat OSP .380. Chambered for the popular and highly controllable .380 round, this Hellcat takes everything that made the original 9 mm version so popular and adds a softer shooting impulse. Combine this with its slim, lightweight dimensions, its designed is intended for exceptional control and effortless concealment. Paired with modern defensive ammunition, it is engineered for reliable penetration and expansion for potent personal defense.

This Optic Sight Pistol (OSP) in .380 is unique in its class in that it’s designed from the ground up to be optics-ready. Like the original 9 mm Hellcat, the new .380 features a removable cover plate that conceals an interface cut designed to accept Shield RMSc/SMSc-pattern optics. Due to the direct-mount design, the optic sits low enough for the pistol’s U-Dot sights to co-witness with the red dot.

For ample defensive firepower, the Hellcat OSP .380 features an 11+1 flush magazine in its smallest form, and also includes a 13+1 extended magazine. Both magazines are constructed from stainless steel for strength and durability.

The lightweight polymer frame features the Hellcat’s renowned Adaptive Grip Texture, which employs a pattern of staggered pyramid shapes. The taller pyramids have a flattened top to ensure comfort. The shorter pyramids come to a point and lock into your hand for a secure hold when the pistol is firmly gripped.

“The 9mm Hellcat quickly established itself as the standard when it came to impressive micro-sized 9mm pistol performance and capability,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “With the addition of this new Hellcat to the family, shooters have an optics-ready .380 featuring class-leading capacity that is ideal for their EDC needs.
