First in our lineup this week, the Safari Club International Diana Award. Now in its 27th year, the annual award, which has been sponsored by the NRA Women’s Leadership Forum for the last seven years, is named for the mythological Roman goddess who reigned over wild animals and the hunt. Meet Brittany Longoria, the latest Diana in this proud tradition.

When it comes to gun handling and safety, familiarity sometimes breeds not contempt, but danger. Veteran firearms instructor Frank Melloni relates five of the most common rookie gun-handling mistakes ... which even "old hands" make. Have a laugh (and a cautionary tale or two) with our friends at NRA Family.

Are you familiar with A Girl and A Gun? The organization's Girl’s Getaway Program provides casual destination events for shooting and camaraderie. Planned at different venues across the country on a quarterly basis, the weekends allow AG & AG members from various chapters to share new shooting experiences and meet new friends. The process and paperwork often intimidate people, but once you know where to start and what you need, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it earlier!

Let’s face it, ammo is expensive and a little hard to find these days … and .22 LR is pretty easy on the wallet! If you’re looking for some great rimfire shooters, 2021 has some exciting new offerings from your favorite gun designers and manufacturers. Here are six that caught our eyes.

We recently ran an article about why permitless (also known as Constitutional) carry is so important for women. We missed a reason ... wait times. In this new COVID-19 era, some wait times for concealed-carry permits are getting so long that a person who feels threatened and wants to carry a firearm for self-defense could be dead and buried before an official ever gets around to keying the application information into the system. Our friends at America's 1st Freedom have the rundown here.
