Ashley Holding Turkey

Whether you’re an avid hunter who doesn’t yet have a hunting girl group, or an aspiring sportswoman not sure where to start, you won’t want to miss this lively recount of an all-female hunting experience. I’ll be speaking with Shoot Like A Girl, Beretta USA and Hunt Like A Girl contest winner Christina Jones about our experience hunting turkeys in Clay Center, Kansas, last month.

When I was first invited on this hunt, I was obviously excited. I thought that the other attendees were just like me: never hunted anything before in their lives. However, when I arrived, I quickly discovered that the other women had never hunted turkeys before … but they had other hunting experiences under their belts. I started to waver a little in my confidence.

I stayed quiet about my reservations, but after three hours in a blind it was obvious from my incessant fidgeting and snacking that it was my first time hunting ever. Instead of becoming frustrated or upset with me, my mentor Suzetta Wise and Christina gave me tips on how to stay more still and snack more quietly. Christina even enthusiastically praised me for how well I had done considering my lack of experience.

Join us on Facebook Live Thursday evening to hear how my impressive guides and fellow huntresses helped me to graduate from stir-crazy sitting to smoking a bird in just two days. You also won’t want to miss Christina’s inspiring journey to hunting as she refused to let an injury hold her back.
