Team Mathews Sweeps Women’s Pro Division at First Leg of IBO National Triple Crown

The team kicked off by winning two Pro divisions and claiming six podiums overall.

Team Mathews kicked off the race for the IBO National Triple Crown with an electric start, sweeping the Pro Female division, winning two Pro divisions and claiming six podiums overall in Pipestem, West Virginia.

Mathews Team Shooters Cara Kelly, Kailey Pettepher, and Emily McCarthy claimed first, second, and third in Pro Female (PRF) making it a clean sweep for Team Mathews. Pettepher and Kelly continue their hot streak after claiming second and third in the recent ASA event located in Minden, Louisiana.

Adding on to the Team’s success, Team Shooter Ray Young finished the event with a combined score of 441 and a commanding 17 X-count dubbing him first place in Pro Senior Release (PSR). Teammate Tim Gillingham had another great event coming off a recent ASA victory in Minden, LA, managing to punch 12 X’s overall with a total combined score of 439 to claim third place in Pro Senior Release.

To cap off a great event for Team Mathews, Team Shooter Danny Evans claimed second place in Pro Male Release (PMR). With a combined score of 452 and 12 X’s, Evans fell only 1 point short of the lead but put himself in great position on the road to the Triple Crown.

“What an amazing start for our team in the IBO Triple Crown,” stated Derek Phillips, Mathews Pro Staff Manager. “It’s great to see so many of our shooters on top of the podium, including a clean sweep in Pro Female. We’re excited to see what is in the store for the Team at the second leg of the Triple Crown.”
