The books are closed on a fatal shooting that occurred in St. Clair County, Missouri. Here’s what we know: At about 1 a.m., officers responding to a report of a shooting discovered an unresponsive male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency measures were performed in an attempt to save the man’s life, but he ultimately succumbed to his wounds at the scene. An investigation into the incident revealed that the 50-year-old man allegedly produced a firearm and threatened a 25-year-old woman who was inside a vehicle. Unfortunately for the deceased suspect, the woman—also armed—discharged her firearm, striking the man and putting an end to his attempted crime. According to the county state’s attorney’s office, the shooting was declared an act of self-defense, and the woman was not charged. (riverbender.com; 7/13/25; St. Clair County, MO)
