An Alabama man was shot after allegedly forcing entry into the home of his estranged wife. The woman had been in the process of reinstating an expired restraining order on her husband. Fearing for her life, the woman fired once the 40-year-old man, hitting him in his abdomen. The man passed away at the hospital. The Russell County Sheriff’s Office said that the shooting was in self-defense. (ledger-enquirer.com; Hatchechubbee, Ala.; 10/31/22)

An argument between a man and a woman who were neighbors culminated with the woman fatally wounding the man. The chief detective on this case said the incident appears to be a case of self-defense. (wcjb.com; Newberry, Fla., 11/9/22)
