A woman who was being beaten and choked by her abusive husband was able to retrieve her gun from her purse to defend herself, firing at him and fatally wounding him. The woman recounted unreported past instances of domestic violence to investigators. The victim was taken to the hospital for a jaw injury and is not facing charges at this time. A woman attempted to slash another woman with a knife, but the intended victim was able to draw her handgun and shoot the assailant in the leg. The wounded woman attempted to claim that she did nothing to provoke the attack, but witnesses recounted the initial knife attack to investigators.
