NRA Women The Armed Citizen Shooting A Pistol

An armed would-be carjacker in Philadelphia had no idea his next victim—a 35-year-old woman who was pumping gas—was the last person he should have chosen.

The 22-year-old thug snuck up behind the woman and put her in a bear hug in an attempt to rob and carjack her. But as it turns out, the legally armed woman was an off-duty corrections officer, and reacted swiftly, struggling out of his grip and drawing her own gun. The two began to fire at each other, exchanging a total of 11 shots.

When law enforcement arrived, the pair was transported to a local hospital where they were listed in stable condition with shots to the legs and back. The man is being held behind bars. Authorities reportedly acknowledged that, after watching corroborating surveillance video, the woman was the victim in the incident.  (fox29.com; Philadelphia, PA; 8/23/23
