NRA Women The Armed Citizen Pistol

The following accounts of brave women who defended themselves with a firearm appeared in earlier editions of The Armed Citizen.®

After a break-in attempt, a Georgia homeowner took extra precautions to protect herself in the event he returned, barricading her front door each night before retiring to bed and arming herself. The woman’s worst fears were realized when the intruder returned one night and attempted to gain entry. While the man struggled to open the door, the homeowner used her own gun to fire at the suspect, but missed, causing him to flee the scene. Reports were there were at least five break-ins in the same neighborhood, all during the same month, with police declaring there was a high probability that all of the cases were connected. A man knocked on a woman’s door one Thursday morning to ask for jumper cables. After she told him did not have any, he went on to several other houses. However, he later returned and forced entry into her home. He grabbed her by the neck and threw her down in what can be assumed was an attempted rape. The victim was able to access a pistol and scare the intruder off without firing any shots. The man was caught on her doorbell camera and at the time of this publication had not been apprehended.
