NRA Women The Armed Citizen Aiming A Pistol

These accounts of brave armed women who defended themselves and their families appeared in earlier editions of The Armed Citizen®:

A woman was standing in her driveway around 4:30 a.m. when three men approached her. The group of men attempted to rob her, but the victim drew her handgun and fired at the men, hitting one before her boyfriend ran out of the house to help her. The other two suspects fled, but the couple is OK and not expected to face charges for defending themselves. (Abc13.com, Harris County, Texas, 12/13/21)

A woman returned home on a Friday afternoon from a hunting trip to catch a woman burglarizing her house. The intruder was in the victim’s bedroom going through her things. The homeowner held the stranger at gun point until police arrived and arrested the woman for felony burglary. (Montanarightnow.com, Butte, Mont., 11/26/21)

A man unknown to the resident of a home smashed her sliding glass door with a shovel, all the while brandishing a firearm. In fear for her life, the woman fired her gun at the intruder. Police arrived on scene and treated the man’s non-life-threatening injury. He was then arrested for attempted burglary, carrying a gun without a license and resisting law enforcement. (courierpress.com, Evansville, Ind., 01/24/22)
