Gunsite Ashley Dooley Lede

Gunsite Academy, the world’s oldest & largest privately owned premiere firearms training facility, proudly announces 35-year-old Ashley Dooley has earned her certification as a staff firearms instructor.

Born and raised in Memphis, Tenn., Dooley is currently a law enforcement special agent in middle Tennessee. With 13 years’ experience as a probation officer and patrol officer, she also has been a six-year firearms instructor at her current agency, specializing in handgun and carbine techniques and training. Passionate about empowering men and women to gain and hone the skills needed to protect themselves and their families, Dooley first attended Gunsite in October of 2018 as a scholarship recipient of the Jeff Cooper Legacy Foundation.

Becoming a recognized Gunsite Academy instructor is no easy task. Requiring hundreds of hours of training and attending numerous classes at Gunsite Academy, the candidate must then be recommended by a certified Gunsite Range Master. Once recommended, the candidate goes through intensive training, working with numerous Gunsite rangemasters and Gunsite coaches who ensure that the Gunsite standards of doctrine, presentation and technique are met.

“Earning the title of Gunsite Adjunct Instructor is a challenge,” said Gunsite CEO Ken Campbell. We only accept the best to train great Americans. We are proud to add Ashley to our list of approximately 65 trained and respected professional firearms instructors from around the Republic.”
