Lets Hear It For The Girls

Kudos and congratulations to the many hardworking women who have created opportunities for women to become involved in the shooting sports, fostering their interest in personal protection, hunting, and encouraging their participation in Second Amendment advocacy. Two of these dedicated women recently hit milestone markers with their individual groups, and are deserving of shout-outs:

Karen Butler’s Shoot Like a Girl (SLG2, Inc.), which she founded in 2008, welcomed its 50,000th participant as she came through the big-rig firearm simulator experience during its stop at the Bass Pro Shops in Grapevine, Texas, in early May 2026. Check out a short video here of the event.

A Girl & A Gun (AG&AG) Women’s Shooting League, led by Robyn Sandoval, reported that April 2026 reflected the continued momentum of the group as more women across the country sought training, community, and confidence through responsible firearms ownership. Membership in AG&AG climbed to 34,736 women nationwide, with 412 chapter events that created meaningful local connections through training, mentorship and shared experiences. The group welcomed new chapters in Chandler (Arizona) and Washington County (Rhode Island). This group does a lot more than just meet up at the range though, and with chapters in all 50 states, there’s no reason you shouldn’t join one of the largest and most attended girl gun groups in the country.

Robyn Sandoval was a guest on John Petrolino's podcast at the "Voices of Second Amendment" during the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Houston, April 2026.

Congratulations to these enterprising women who have spent nearly two decades growing these organizations into steadfast programs to which women who are interested in learning to shoot can turn to for solid advice.
