About Magnum Research
Founded in 1979, Magnum Research carved its niche in the firearms industry by specializing in powerful hunting handguns, starting with the iconic Desert Eagle pistol. This gas-operated behemoth became the first commercially successful autoloader chambered for a magnum cartridge, a title it proudly holds to this day. Available in calibers like .44 Magnum, .357 Magnum, .50 AE, and the mighty .429 DE, the Desert Eagle's imposing presence and raw firepower have transcended the gun world, earning it a starring role in countless movies, TV shows, and video games. Since then the aptly named Biggest Finest Revolver (BFR) was added, a super-accurate and reliable handgun chambered for a wide range of calibers, satisfying even the most demanding hunters. Other notable firearms include the Baby Eagle and MR1911 pistols, as well as the SwitchBolt, Straight Bolt, and Mountain Eagle rifles. In 2010, Magnum Research became part of the Kahr Firearms Group, joining forces with fellow gun makers Kahr and Auto-Ordnance.
