A "ronin" is a samurai warrior with no master ... sounds about right!

Ronin 10Mm

Every good superhero has an even better origin story, and Springfield Armory's Ronin is no exception. Named in honor of the Japanese samurai tradition, a "ronin" is a wandering samurai with no lord or master. If that sounds like a pretty good description of you, too, then you'll be excited to learn that the Springfield Armory Ronin 1911 is now chambered in the mighty 10mm. The 10mm, an excellent defensive round, also has the advantage of not being quite as popular as the 9mm and .45ACP ... which means it's likely to be much easier to find these days.

The Ronin may have been named for a masterless warrior, but this 1911 is more than ready to serve you faithfully. It boasts classic styling with modern features, including forward slide serrations, a beavertail safety grip with a "memory bump" for instinctive engagement, an extended safety lever and fiber optic front/tactical rack white-dot rear-sight system. It also features Springfield's famous 2nd Generation Speed Trigger and a basepad-equipped, 8-round-capacity magazine.

This full-size 5" 1911 is crafted to the ultimate in precision and quality, but it has another thing going for it: It's pretty. With a beautiful two-tone finish, stainless steel forged frame and a forged slide of carbon steel, the flats of both the slide and frame are polished to perfection while the rest of the pistol wears matte finish. The slide features a gorgeous hot-salt bluing treatment that not only brings out the luster of the steel, but also hearkens back to the earliest days of the classic 1911.

“The Ronin series of pistols—offered in 9mm and .45 ACP, and now 10mm—have proven to be extremely popular with 1911 enthusiasts due to their impressive quality, forged strength and durability, and exceptional features,” explains Steve Kramer, vice president of marketing for Springfield Armory. “With the addition of the 10mm chambering, the Ronin family now has even more to offer.”

If you've been reading this and seeing $ turn to $$ turn to $$$, go ahead and erase those dollar signs. This feature-rich dynamo has a suggested retail price of just $849, which means you'll likely be able to find it at stores for less. Springfield-Armory.com
