An Atlanta homeowner took matters into her own hands, opening fire on an intruder when he tried to enter her bedroom. The would-be burglar was struck in the stomach but survived the injury. After receiving medical attention at a hospital, he was held at the detention center, charged with burglary. A neighbor told a local news channel that it “wasn't unusual to hear gunshots in the area, but break-ins are rare.” Although the break-in remains under investigation, police reports say the homeowner will not face charges.
