When Phoenix police responded to a shooting around 1:30 a.m. on a Monday, they discovered a 46-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He later succumbed to his wounds at a hospital. A subsequent investigation revealed that the man had allegedly assaulted the woman—reportedly his girlfriend—on the scene, which led to her discharging a firearm and the fatal shots.
