At 3:30 a.m. on a Tuesday morning, a woman discovered an intruder in her apartment. In fear for her life, she shot the man, causing him to flee. Just 15 minutes later a man walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound. Police were able to arrest the intruder, and the woman is OK. (wkyt.com, Lexington, Ky., 04/06/21)

A woman’s adult son was being physically aggressive towards her while armed with a rifle. The mother feared for her life during their physical altercation, and fired at him in self-defense. The man was taken to the hospital. As of this writing, no arrests had been made. (wnky.com, Munfordville, Ky., 04/22/21)
