The following accounts of brave armed women who defended their lives appeared in earlier editions of The Armed Citizen®.

A woman called 9-1-1 to report her ex-boyfriend was breaking into her house. However, the ex-boyfriend saw that the woman was armed, so he left, but later returned with his own firearm—when the resident’s current boyfriend and three small children were also home. The intruder attacked the couple and held a gun to the boyfriend’s head. The woman was able to fire one shot, killing the attacker and saving her boyfriend’s life.(ReviewJournal.com, Las Vegas, Nev., 03/23/22)

A man was verbalizing death threats as he forced his way into a woman’s house, warning her that if she called the police, he would kill her. Fearing for her life, the woman shot the intruder, who fled the scene. The woman called 9-1-1 and authorities found the fatally injured assailant the following day. The victim was unharmed. A woman was in her car around 1:30 a.m. when she was confronted by five would-be carjackers armed with rifles. But the woman was armed with a handgun and fired at the group in self-defense. The thugs returned fire at her while fleeing the scene. The woman, whose car was not stolen, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Later that night, the same gang carjacked a man but left him unhurt. Police located the car using license-plate-reading technology and gave chase on the perpetrators, eventually apprehending three 16-year-olds and two 17-year-olds responsible for the incidents—who were armed with two firearms.
