This company may be known for its silence, but in the world of suppressors, they are creating a lot of buzz. If you attended the 2025 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Atlanta, you may have stopped at the Whisperchicks Suppressors booth, where the company made its debut. This company was co-founded by three women from different walks of life.

Nicole Kantzavelos grew up around firearms and hunting with her family in northwestern Illinois, but was turned off by shooting at a young age. To her, guns were loud, powerful and just not enjoyable. So instead she became an archer. Nicole eventually married a Marine and moved to Georgia. He was a shooter and introduced her to another Marine who worked with suppressors, who offered to let her shoot a suppressed.22-caliber firearm. Nicole said the experience was life-changing.

Nancy Killion’s foray into shooting came later in life while hunting with her family in Colorado. While shooting at a range and wearing hearing protection, a shooter in the lane next to her began firing a high-powered rifle. The blast was so intense that it left her with permanent hearing loss. Nancy was determined to “do something about this.” She wondered how many women were walking away from the shooting experience because it was too loud, uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

Karen Robinson-Cope was also a shooter. After having discussions about shooting with her friend Nancy, she brought Nancy and Nicole together. The team was born. The women’s individual yet simultaneous brainstorms caused them to ponder how many other ladies out there were just like them. They each wanted to do something for women to address the discomfort, noise and gear they felt was intimidating and perhaps keeping other women from feeling comfortable around firearms and on the range.

Thus, Whisperchicks Supppresors was born out of a simple and powerful mission: to transform the shooting experience for women, and to get more women shooting and help them love the experience.

The women of Whisperchicks wanted to design a safe and comfortable product for women but also reflect the individual personalities and styles of women shooters. Although each model is offered in basic black, for women who are set on a departure and want to stand out on the range, eye-catching Cerakote finish options like Orange, Gold, Rose Gold, Black Cherry, Purple, Pink and Aztek Teal are also available.

Additionally, they wanted Whisperchicks suppressors to rise above the quality of some other existing suppressors. The benefits of Whisperchicks Suppressors are they fit on firearms with little to no modifications. Some existing suppressors are large and thick, and require firearm modifications to accept a suppressor. Because Whisperchicks designs its suppressors to be lightweight, using titanium for strength and low weight, they are easy to handle, easy to clean, and attach to a firearm without interfering with iron sights.

The Whisperchicks ladies say their lightest and most popular model is the Whisper 22 (above). With a length of 6”, a diameter of 1”, and a weight of only 5.44 oz., it is light enough for .22 LR rimfire and is rated all the way to 22 Creedmoor. This suppressor is fully serviceable, opening up for easy cleaning (tools included). MSRP is $499.00.

The company’s next most popular product is the Whisper 9 (above). At a slim 1.125”, it is the only suppressor that allows you keep shooting with your pistol’s factory sights. With a length of 6.25” or 8.25” and a weight of 6 or 7.5 oz., every Whisper 9 ships with their featherweight booster and Nielsen device for reliable cycling on tilt-barrel handguns. Calibers include 9 mm, .380, .32 ACP, .22LR. MSRP is $749.00.

Other Whisperchicks Suppressors include:

  • Whisper 9 Carbine — calibers include 9 mm handguns and below. MSRP: $749.00.
  • Whisper 30 DT (.30 Cal) — calibers include 300 BLK, 300 Win Mag, .308, 7.62x39, and 6.5 Creedmoor. MSRP: $849.00
  • Whisper 556 DT (5.56mm) — calibers include 5.56, 22-250, 22 Creedmoor. MSRP: $849.00 (shown right)
  • Makeover 300 BLK (300 AAC Blackout) — this is a complete integrally suppressed 300 Blackout upper that replaces your barrel entirely. MSRP: $1,599.00
  • Makeover 556 (5.56mm) — this is a complete integrally suppressed 5.56 upper that replaces your barrel entirely. MSRP: $1,599.00

These small and thin suppressors are perfect for a day at the range whether you are introducing a new person to shooting or rediscovering it for yourself. The Whisperchicks founders believe by reducing noise and recoil, they can help transform the shooting experience into something more approachable, empowering, and fun!
