From a Wild Sheep Foundation press release:

The Wild Sheep Foundation's (WSF) Women Hunt program has launched a new podcast connecting outdoor enthusiasts through authentic, bold, and educational conversations.

"The Women Hunt program has grown since its inception in 2020," said Renée Thornton, founder and chair of Women Hunt. "Women Hunt is complemented by our Women in Hunting community and the Rubye Mayflower Blake Legacy Fund. Hosting a podcast felt like a great extension to serve the interests these programs have generated on a platform that allows storytelling and sharing on a personal level."

WSF's Women Hunt engages, educates, empowers, and inspires more women to enter the hunting and conservation space.

IGNITE will celebrate the strength and resilience of the champions of wildlife and wild places by featuring a broad cross-section of guests from adventurers and conservationists to leaders, storytellers, and trailblazers.

The new podcast will be hosted by Dana Dykema, from North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Dykema lives with her husband and four teenage children. She started hunting a few years ago and, after many pursued ventures, from restoring furniture in her garage to running a farm-to-table distribution business, finally feels she's found her niche in the hunting and conservation community. Dana began podcasting with Mark Hall at Wild Origins Canada on the Hunter Conservationist Podcast in 2024. Here she learned a great deal about issues facing Canadian hunters, trappers, anglers, and conservationists. Dana is thrilled about the conversations on the horizon with incredible people, and she looks forward to inviting them to share their stories, experiences, and knowledge on the IGNITE podcast.

Dykema said, "I am honored to be the host of the IGNITE podcast. Being at the forefront of a new brand within such a respected organization is humbling. I'm grateful to be part of the Wild Sheep family, and I hope to add to the momentum of what WSF and WH wish to accomplish in 2026 and beyond."

IGNITE aligns with one of WSF's core components of its Mission: to educate the public and youth on sustainable use and the conservation benefits of hunting while promoting the interests of the hunter.

The weekly podcast is available on the Foundation's website and major podcast listening platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Audible, Pocket Casts, Podcast Addict, and others.

"Our goal is to connect outdoor enthusiasts through genuine and inspiring conversations that will nurture passions, expand horizons, and inspire with voices from around the world," Thornton added.
