Jessie Harrison Wins First Steel Master Title

Harrison’s win also marks the first time the title has been claimed by a woman.

NRA Women congratulates Jessie Harrison on her first Overall Steel Master title, earned after her stellar performance at the 2022 Steel Challenge World Championship, April 30 - May 1, 2022, in Talladega, Alabama. Harrison’s win also marks the first time the title has been claimed by a woman. 

On her Facebook page, Harrison said she was honored to have won the award. “In my opinion, this is one of the hardest titles to earn (aside from the overall title); you’re not only trying to place well in one division but three,” she said. “I’ve watched legendary shooters win this cup over the 17 years I’ve been shooting this sport and I’m so honored to have earned it.”

The coveted Steel Master title is awarded to the shooter with the best aggregate score for two centerfire and one rimfire divisions. Not only did Harrison also place High Overall Lady, 3rd Overall Open and 2nd Overall Single Stack, she set a new ladies world record single stack time.

Of course, Harrison couldn’t let the win go by without acknowledging some of the gear that helped her get to the winner’s podium. “Hornady has been one of my longest standing sponsors in my career; their support means more than I could ever express,” she said. Harrison captured her title using Hornady 9 mm 115-gr. HAP bullets “Along with that, the consistency and excellence of their product has allowed me to be confident in my ammunition through the years,” she said. “I hope they share the excitement of this career milestone, as they have been a contributing factor to my success!” Harrison added.
