Stealth Fighter: Alysia Burrows Takes Stealth 2-Gun at Superstition Mountain Mystery Match

The Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun Match unveiled a new High Lady in a win that was anything but stealthy.

It was a mere seven years ago, in 2015, when former professional swing dancer Alysia Burrows began her journey in the world of competitive practical shooting. These days Burrows is a sponsored professional shooter, and the latest news is that she's taken the Top Lady title at one of the crown jewels of practical shooting: the Superstition Mystery Mountain 3-Gun (SMM3G) match. The native Utahn garnered her category win in the Stealth 2-gun category in what's sure to be just the beginning of an amazing shooting season.

"Practical shooting" is exactly what it sounds like—a competition designed to test practical shooting skills. Burrows began her round in the Stealth 2-Gun Division after conquering 11 challenging stages that require more than speed and accuracy (although those are important). Ideally, the Stealth 2-gun winner also excels at safe firearms manipulation, shooting on the go and thinking on the fly. Her final time of 950.49 secured her the win.

Burrows, who is sponsored by Federal Premium and B&T USA, enthused about both her win and her gear. “I was excited to start the 2022 season with a bang at this event in beautiful Mesa, Arizona," said Burrows. "This match is known for attracting some of the best around, and it’s always a privilege to shoot alongside them.” Continued Burrows, “What really gave me my edge this weekend was the 150-grain, 9mm Federal Syntech rounds. This load has low recoil, but also has strong power to knock down all the large heavy steel."

Burrows' co-sponsor, B&T, originally hails from Switzerland as a manufacturer of a variety of suppressors, firearms and accessories. The company's VP of Sales, Jon Scott, remarked, “Alysia’s 1st place finish in the Lady Category with her APC223 [rifle] continues to demonstrate how well-rounded B&T’s line of rifle-caliber platforms are—whether in the hands of the armed professional or running stages afield at a very high level—B&T platforms perform.”
