Team Ruger’s Lauryl Akenhead stellar performance at the 2026 Sheepdog Showdown earned her the High Lady title. The national two-day PRS Pro Series point match was held in the Catskill Mountains' forested terrain in New York, and emphasized precise execution, strong positional fundamentals and effective stage management.
Throughout the match, Akenhead relied on her Ruger American Gen II rifle and earned the impressive High Lady, finishing with a final score of 151, while demonstrating the preparation and discipline required to compete at the highest level of the sport. The rifle performed as intended, allowing focus to remain on stage execution and on reading ever-changing conditions.
"The Sheepdog Showdown was a great test of both equipment and fundamentals. I was proud to finish as the High Lady while competing with my Ruger American Gen II in an MDT LSS chassis," said Akenhead. "The rifle continues to impress me with its reliability, accuracy and consistency, giving me complete confidence at every stage."
