A woman called 9-1-1 to report that she had shot her boyfriend after he assaulted and strangled her.

A Chesterfield County, Virginia, woman shot her boyfriend in what police say was self-defense during a domestic incident. County police officers responded to a 9-1-1 call just after 1 a.m. on a Monday. Reports said that an unidentified woman told dispatchers that she shot her boyfriend after he had assaulted and strangled her. Upon arrival, officers discovered the woman and her boyfriend, 46, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The two were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The boyfriend was subsequently charged with strangulation and domestic assault, and as of this posting, remined at the hospital in police custody. The shooting was determined to have been committed in self-defense, according to police reports. (wric.com; 3/10/25; Chesterfield County, VA)
