A woman shot the father of her child in her home while he was assaulting her to the point that she feared for her life. News reports say that deputies are calling it a case of self-defense. Here’s what we know: Deputies were summoned to a home just after 9:30 p.m. on a Sunday, and when they arrived, they found the 49-year-old alleged attacker dead at the scene. Further information included previous recent charges filed against the man for domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature against the same woman. The suspect had been released on a $60,000 bond. (wyff4.com; Pickens County, S.C.; 8/24/24)
